The Big Heart Paddle is a charity paddleboard event that provides a fun and entertaining way to support a very special charity, the Bravery Beads™ Foundation. Bravery Beads™ Foundation is an organization founded by Corinne & Darren Enkin that improves the quality of life for children battling cancer and other life threatening illnesses through their Bravery Beads tm Program, implemented into hospitals throughout the country. Their hard work and generosity improves the lives of over 10,000 children a year who struggle with their journey through cancer. 1 hospital costs $5,000 to run the program for 1 year. 100 children benefit from the program at each hospital, a $50 donation provides beads for 1 child’s journey for the entire year.
Get your vessel sea worthy by September 24th and take a voyage around Miami Beach's Star Island. Single entry race participants can choose between either a 3 or 5 mile paddle race. The much appreciated large turnout to last year's first annual paddle caught us off guard, with not enough race categories for a fair race; but this year we are ready for whatever you can throw at us. You can see a breakdown of the race categores on the "Registration" page. As well, if you would like to suggest an additional category that you would like to help populate, just fill out the "Get More Information" form on the right and we will connect with you about it.
Is this kind of boat and this kind of captain encouraged? Absolutely! There’s even a prize category for this type of paddle participant. The ‘Most Stylish Paddle’ award will go to the participant who dazzles our event producers with paddle creativity.
